SUNROOMS
What is a sunroom?
The concept of the sunroom began decades ago with the earliest homemade attempts using wood posts and stapled screens to enclose front or back porches to keep out bugs.
Over the years, technology has taken the screened-in porch idea, added advanced thermal window and roof systems and created an engineering marvel in what is known as today’s contemporary sunroom.
Homeowners can now effectively solve the problems of the outdoors, enjoying it more, and extending the ways a sunroom can be used. Additionally, advances in sunroom design now give homeowners a wide range of attractive construction options – a far cry from the “box on a house” look popular throughout the 60s and 70s.
In short, our sunrooms are a quality-manufactured addition to your house that provides extended use of outdoor recreational space. Our sunrooms provide a place to unwind, relax and spend time with your family and friends.
Why should I choose a sunroom over a standard room addition?
Each type of room has its own specific purpose and you should first determine how you want to use your space. A standard room addition (studs, drywall, standard roof, windows, integrated permanent heating/cooling systems) is designed to meet certain codes as a year-round, permanent living space, like a kitchen or a bedroom.
A sunroom is designed as an additional room on your house that protects you from weather and insects during the times you would want to be outdoors. It offers incredible flexibility to enjoy many activities, such as soaking in a spa, entertaining, exercising, working, relaxing and so much more. It is designed with wall-to-wall windows that provide panoramic views and protection from wind and weather. Screen systems control insects and allow refreshing breezes. Thermal engineering and design helps regulate the interior environment of the sunroom to keep you comfortable throughout many days throughout the seasons and many seasons throughout the year (depending on your geographic region.)
There are various options in our sunroom wall systems that are designed to provide maximum thermal protection against cold and heat, depending on your geographic region and needs. This will extend the times throughout the day and the days throughout the year that your sunroom can be used. You may also add sunroom-approved, non-permanent heating or cooling sources to extend your sunroom use.
In addition, a sunroom can be installed at a fraction of the cost and time, compared to a standard room addition. Sunrooms may be installed on a variety of approved foundations (deck, concrete) in just one to two days, compared to the weeks or months required for a standard room addition.
If you like the appearance of a traditional room addition, but the idea and benefits of the sunroom with wall-to-wall windows, then our sunrooms may be right for you! Designed to integrate your home’s architectural features into the sunroom – roof, knee wall, overhangs, siding materials – offers all the benefits of sunroom living with an entirely fresh appeal!
What size are sunrooms?
The beauty of our sunrooms is that they are custom built to fit your home and needs. You can create a cozy sitting area or something large enough to cover a built-in pool. Some of the more popular sizes are: 12’ x 20’, 12’ x 12’, 16’ x 20’, 10’ x 14’, 10’ x 12’, 10’ x 8’, 8’ x 12’, and 12’ x 15’.
Can I add skylights? Do they really add more light and do they leak?
Yes, skylights are an option (as well as overhead ceiling fans and custom lights)! A skylight adds to the beauty and enjoyment of your sunroom by allowing additional sunlight into key areas. Our certified installers ensure proper installation to guarantee against leaks.
Can I use a spa in my sunroom?
We highly recommend it! A sunroom with a spa is a perfect way to increase your enjoyment of your sunroom. Imagine soaking away stress at the end of a busy workday, or enjoying the company of family or friends on a summer night or crisp fall afternoon.
Spas are best installed at the time of original installation of the sunroom. In addition, you’ll want to consider the electrical needs for the spa during the sunroom’s installation. However, a spa can be added after your room is installed, but requires dismantling a portion of your room. Only a authorized dealer should handle this process.
Can you provide a cost per square foot?
Prices vary according to each custom project since square footage is not the only determining factor in the cost of your sunroom. We offer a free in home consultation which can provide specific cost evaluations in relation to your custom sunroom project.

What type of glass is used in the windows in your sunrooms?
The most defining feature of your sunroom is its windows. That’s why we pay particular attention and choose the highest quality sunroom windows. Our manufacture make their own window systems, as opposed to using “stock” windows purchased elsewhere.
They feature a tempered HPG 2000 glass– four times stronger than annealed glass. The HPG 2000 series of glass (available in single-pane and double-pane IG glass) is an exclusive product that decreases solar heat gain and provides protection against harmful ultraviolet rays.
How will my sunroom stand up to severe weather?
Absolutely! Our sunrooms have been designed and developed by an engineering department who has consistently provided industry-leading innovations in sunroom design for more than 30 years. They manufacturer all our sunroom products on site to ensure superior quality control over every aspect of the room from the skeletal structure, to the windows and walls, the roof and all other details of the room.
In addition, the components and rooms are independently tested to meet or exceed all national building codes. In fact, the sunroom structure is built to meet rigorous building code requirements, comparable to those required for the residence itself. The sunrooms meet the standards for high wind conditions (up to 110 mph).
Each sunroom is a custom room that is designed and approved by our engineering department to meet all the codes of your community as well as all national codes.

Our glass is a proprietary glass solution for homeowners that are concerned about safety, security and energy efficiency. The Glass unit is constructed using two pieces of miracle strong glass, assembled on a warm edge miracle spacer, coated with a miracle coating that reflects heat, and filled with argon gas. The result is a strong and efficient window glass.
Can I find your glass anywhere else?
No. Our glass product is an exclusive product of The Window Pros.
Are your windows custom sizes or are they stock sizes?
Every Window is custom made. Our factory and the manufacturing systems are not designed for high volume standard-sized runs. It is optimized for custom-made windows. Every window is custom made to the exact size and dimensions we specify for your home.
Are there different kinds of vinyl used by window manufacturers?
Absolutely. Vinyls are like any other man-made compound. There are numerous components in vinyl compounds, and there are many vinyl manufacturers that produce numerous types and grades for window manufacturing. Lesser-quality vinyls typically have problems with brittleness or impact resistance, color consistency, and expansion and contraction. The best vinyls are proprietary compounds formulated specifically for manufacturing high-quality windows. We use a compound called ZX-3000. It is a natural white (not the bright appliance white so many companies use), has impact modifiers added to make it strong, and is guaranteed not to chip, crack, pit, corrode, or chalk.
Are Your Windows Energy Star Qualified?
Yes! All of our products are Energy Star certified, Windows can only carry the ENERGY STAR label if they are tested by an independent laboratory through the NFRC program and meet specific, predetermined energy efficiency measures. By selecting ENERGY STAR products, you will reduce your energy costs and help make the environment cleaner.
Does your glass windows help cut down on noise?
All windows and doors reduce noise to some degree. The best solution, however, is to use an insulating glass like Miracle Glass in windows where noise is a concern. Sound is nothing more than vibration, and the combination of thicker glass that is very dense, and the warm edge spacer provides as much as a 100 percent improvement in sound deadening over other glass types.

Using our glass in your new windows or doors will filter out damaging UV light. It features a special coating that filters out more than 88 percent of UV radiation that fades interior furnishings.
Does your glass windows help prevent intrusions?
Yes. Our glass is super strong and virtually unbreakable. Double locks are fastened into an alloy beam and help insure the window will not be easily pried open. So the combination of glass and construction can make a dramatic improvement in the vulnerability at your windows.
What do i need to do to clean the windows?
All our windows are easy to clean. Many styles offer tilt-in or pull-out sashes to make access easy, and because the glass is a smooth, non-pitted glass, cleaning it is especially easy!
What do I do to maintain my windows?
The windows are made to be maintenance free, but you should inspect them two times a year. Open and close them to make sure they operate smoothly, and most importantly inspect the caulking at, near, or around the window where it is set in the frame. Caulking is essential to keeping water out, and unfortunately, with the change in seasons, caulking can sometimes pull away as your house expands and contracts. Rest assured we use a high quality caulking that is not prone to brittleness, or to pulling free, but a visual inspection will be all it takes to be sure. If you see that the caulking around a window is loose, pulled free, or questionable, just call us. We will be happy to check it and redo it for you. It is all covered in your warranty.
SIDING
Why should I put new siding on my home?
New siding will rejuvenate an older home, give it a completely new look, and significantly reduce cost for home upkeep and maintenance. It will protect the home from elements and eliminate the need for costly, frequent repainting.
What types of siding materials can I choose from?
Among the siding materials available today are vinyl, aluminum, steel and hardboard. Vinyl siding is particularly popular because it adds to the value and beauty of the home, requires minimal upkeep and can be installed over most existing sidewalls. It simulates the appearance of wood, and is the most durable, practical and efficient siding on the market.
What exactly is vinyl siding?
Vinyl siding is manufactured from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), a revolutionary building material that has replaced metal as the prime material for many industrial, commercial and consumer products. PVC has many years of successful performance as a construction material, providing impact-resistance, rigidity and strength.
Can the color peel or flake off?
There is no paint to peel, flake off or blister. The color of the siding actually goes completely through the material.
Does vinyl siding offer any insulating value?
Not enough to notice but the 3/8 backer board installed under the siding will offer some and more importantly the combination of the backer board and siding will significantly decrease air infiltration.
If painting isn't required, then how do I keep my vinyl siding clean?
Usually all you will need is a to rinse your siding down annually with a garden hose. Every few years professional pressure washing with the appropriate cleaner will restore your siding to like new!
Does vinyl siding contribute to rotting, moisture buildup or termite infestation?
Vinyl siding will not cause any of these problems, but neither will it cure problems that existed before the siding was installed. Vinyl siding can be applied with assurance that it will not promote rotting, moisture or termite infestation. Indeed, the siding itself is impervious to rotting, and does not attract insects. It is designed to allow for proper ventilation. Pre-punched weep-holes along the bottom butt edge of the siding allow condensation to drain out.
What effect will vinyl siding have on television or radio reception?
None at all.
How does its price compare with other replacement siding materials?
Vinyl siding is competitively priced with other siding materials. When you consider that you no longer need to have your house repainted every few years, the cost is very economical and eventually will be recovered by eliminating repainting costs. Vinyl siding is designed to last 40 years or more. Consult individual manufacturers for specific warranties.
